“The top 3 vendors -- Cisco, Juniper, and Check Point -- posted moderate gains in the third quarter, a typically quiet quarter, with many companies putting off spending until the fourth quarter budget flush,” said Jeff Wilson principal analyst for network security at Infonetics Research. “For the next few years, we expect high growth (greater than 10% quarter over quarter) in network security appliance spending to come from SSL VPN, in-line IDS/IPS, NAC, and content security products.”
